Do You Know Jesus?
Questions
If you are reading this chances are something is amiss in your life. Perhaps you feel lost, alone, or just confused with the world around you. Perhaps you've grown up in the church but never really understood what Salvation was all about. Maybe you know nothing about the church; you simply know you are missing something. Whatever the reason is that you are here I can tell you one thing for certain, the answers you seek begin here. (Matthew 6:33; John 8:12; John 6:35)
The Problem
Lets start with the basics. It's important for you to understand that no matter what kind of person you are, you are the creation of the one and only True God. (Genesis 1:26-27) You also need to understand that simply by being human, you have an inherited sinful nature. (Romans 5:12; Romans 3:23) Because of our inherited sin we are considered dead to God, having willfully turned our backs on him. (Romans 1:21; 3:10-18) This even extends into death; when Christ returns he will judge us all, dead or alive, based solely on our choices. (Matthew 16:26; John 3:36; Romans 6:23) Our choices are simple: to live in our sinfulness or live in Jesus Christ.
The Solution
Now that we know what the problem is, lets move toward how to fix it. God loved us so much that he sent His son Jesus Christ to live as a man, subject to all things man is subject to, and die for one purpose: so we could be freed of our sinful inheritance. (John 3:16-17; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Romans 5:8) Yes, Jesus Christ's sole mission was to save us by taking on the sins of the world and revoking any access Satan had to our eternal souls. (1 John 4:4; John 3:36) Wow, what an amazing thing for someone to do. Now you might ask what you've got to do to return the favor and the answer is simple - believe it's all true. That's it, just believe that you were a sinner and that Christ Jesus died on the cross to absolve you of those sins. (John 11:25-26)
That's all there is to it. Theres no money to send, no taxes to pay the government and certainly no small print at the bottom of a contract. The contract for the release of our souls was signed a long time ago by the blood of Christ. It's already done, you just need to accept it. Once you have accepted God's gift to you, God promises that the enemy can't regain his control over us. (1 Peter 5:8-10) He gives us knowledge, guidance and even a whole suit of armor to use for protection. (Ephesians 6:10-18; 1 Corinthians 1:25) He guarantees that nothing will ever overwhelm us and that under no circumstances will he ever forget about us. (1 Corinthians 10:13; Deuteronomy 31:6)
The Prayer
Now if this sounds like something you would like to get plugged into, it's easy. All you need to do is pray. If you don't know how to pray the easiest way is to close your eyes, and speak outloud or silently this prayer:
Father God, I come to you in the Mighty Name of Jesus. Your word says, "Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved" and "If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God has raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved" (Acts 2:21; Romans 10:9). You said my salvation would be the result of Your Holy Spirit giving me new birth by coming to live in me (John 3:5-6, 15-16; Romans 8:9-11) and that if I would ask, You would fill me with your Anointed Spirit. I take you at Your Word. I confess that Jesus is My Lord. And I believe in my heart that you raised Him from the dead. Thank you for coming into my heart, for giving me Your Holy Spirit to guide me as You promised, and for being Lord over my life! Amen!
If you prayed that prayer today please take a minute to contact us. Use the contact form or send a message to one of our staff, send an e-mail to our site administrator, or fill out the contact us form with whatever information you want us to have. We would be exstatic to answer any of your questions and have the opportunity to speak with you. I can guarantee we won't try to sell you anything, show up on your door unannounced, send you something you didn't ask for or ask you for anything aside from an open heart.
If you don't feel inclined to contact anyone or pray that's fine too. This is a personal decision of your own free will that no one can force you to make. I would, however, urge you not to set this message on the shelf to collect dust. This message is the most important thing you'll ever hear in your life and I don't say that lightly. I'd urge you to spend some serious time thinking about what you've read about here. The decision here is not only for you life here but for you eternal soul.
